CAMBRIDGE — The 8th Annual Cambridge Tall Ship Schooner Rendezvous will be held at Long Wharf Park in Cambridge Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event showcases the culture and maritime heritage of Dorchester County in relation to the role of schooners in the Chesapeake Bay area. The event features nationally and internationally recognized participants of the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race as well as renowned Tall Ships.
Vessels that have participated include: Mystic Whaler, Pride of Baltimore II, Lady Maryland, Virginia, Martha White and other historic vessels. Educational field trips are coordinated with the vessels for local school children.

The event is organized by local citizens who volunteer their time and talent to bring an educational, fun-filled weekend to the community. Their goal is to promote the area’s maritime heritage, to promote the continuation of maritime trades and to bring economic benefit to the community through heritage tourism.
